Why Aikido?

There are many benefits associated with Aikido training aside from learning how to protect yourself.  Benefits include:

  • improved cardiovascular health

  • balance

  • flexibility

When practiced regularly, Aikido helps one develop the ability to stay calm in stressful situations. In addition to self-defense training, Aikido also teaches you how to fall and roll safely. You may never get into a fight, but everyone falls, so developing this skill is an added bonus.

Conflict Resolution & Harmony

Aikido is a martial art based on concepts of conflict resolution and harmony. We teach how to resolve conflict by causing as little harm to your aggressor as possible to effectively deal with the situation.

Effective Regardless of Stature.

Aikido is based on a series of movements, controls, and joint locks that are not strength dependent so it remains effective even if you are small in stature or strength.
